Hey there!
In order to simplify 4x-8, we need a value of x.
In order to find one, we will just isolate x in the equation that we are given.
We have:
3x-2=7
Add two to both sides
3x=9
Divide both sides by 3
x=3

Now, we'll plug 3 in to 4x-8. Therefore, we have:

4(3)-8 =
12-8 =
4
Hope this helps!
