[tex]\sec x(\sec x+\tan x)=\sec^2x+\sec x\tan x[/tex]
Recall that [tex](\tan x)'=\sec^2x[/tex], and [tex](\sec x)'=\sec x\tan x[/tex].
So,
[tex]\displaystyle\int \sec x(\sec x+\tan x)\,\mathrm dx=\tan x+\sec x+C[/tex]
