X=Y-8

also X=2Y

Substitute equation 1 into equation 2

Y-8=2Y

Y-2Y= 8

-Y×-1 =8×-1

Y= -8

then substitute Y=-8 to the equations

X=2(-8)

X=-16

X=-8-8

X=-16
