The genocide occurred when a strange missile blew up the plane of the Rwandan President Juvénal Habyarimana.
No one knew the source of the missile but the ethnic people of Hutu decided to pin the occurrence on the minority ethnic group. This led to a mass killing and slaughtering of the minor ethnic group in the country.
