What are the solutions of a quadratic equation (X-8)2-13(x-8)+30=0

For know, just set x-8=y. You have the equation [tex]y^2-13y+30=0[/tex]

Solving for y, you get (y-10)(y-3)=0. So, y=10 and y=3.

But we need to add 8 each each because we are solving for x, not y.

So, x=18 and x=11 are your answers.
